Responsibilities
This position is located in the Office of Audit, Quality Assurance and Operations Directorate -or- Office of Special Review and Evaluation, Quality Assurance and Operations Support Directorate with the Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Inspector General.
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
Serves as a Senior Auditor ensuring the integrity of the audit/evaluation products that are signed by the Inspector General and issued to Congressional members.
Provides direction to OIG senior leadership and staff in maintaining and improving project quality and demonstrates personal leadership that inspires others and achieves results
Assists in the development of performance goals and measurements.
Analyzing quality assurance issues and trends. Recommending corrective actions as applicable
Serve as OIG national technical expert for assigned area of responsibility advising OIG personnel and others on auditing and evaluation standards.
Provides resources, including guidance documents, audit and evaluation tools, and training courses to ensure compliance with standards, increase efficiency and effectiveness.

This is a Public Trust Position. Employment in this position requires a background investigation. Basic Requirements:
A. Bachelor’s or Higher Degree: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.

B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
In addition to the mandatory education requirement, all applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
