Help

As an ARCHIVES TECHNCIAN, you will:

- Receive, read, classify, and route reference requests (utilizing Civilian Personnel Registry systems, electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) systems associated with agencies using eOPF, and other repositories of OPF or EMF information) determining which unit has cognizance over the subject matter.

- Lead work crews in moving blocks of records from one storage area to another, ensures that records remain or are placed in proper order, and maintains and updates file location information.

- Perform document preparation on textual materials to be digitally scanned into electronic formats. Specifically, incumbent will remove staples, flatten, correct bent corners of document, disassemble materials when necessary insuring that the original arrangement and scanning scheme is maintained, prepare required bar code/separator sheets, and make photocopies of document(s) to be scanned.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

This position requires candidates to pass a physical abilities test designed to measure candidates ability to perform the physical requirements of the job. The test requires carrying 30-50 pound boxes like those found on the job. It also requires bending, squatting, and walking to reach the boxes in addition to climbing and balancing on a pulpit ladder up to 15 feet high

General Experience: You must have one year of general experience which includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.

OR

2 years of education above high school.

OR

Combination of general experience and education.

Education
