Duties

Help
  • Responsible for contract performance, involving monitoring the Battalion contract from inception to conclusion, initiating corrective action on contract performance, and making recommendation on payment of award fee, contract changes or termination.
  • Coordinate with Higher Headquarters (e.g., AFSB), and within the battalion to ensure logistics operations are in compliance with policy and funding is available.
  • Determine the required input and output which will most effectively identify management problems and furnish information to be used in their resolution.
  • Participate in special projects focused on the resolution of complex or unique automated supply system problems. Recommends actions or changes to policy to achieve improved supply readiness of supported units.
  • Coordinate automated data processing programs for logistical support, analyzes command supply performance, providing the command with reports and briefings that layout courses of action (COAs).

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting with gathering analyzing data and formulating recommendations on logistics matters, and experience conducting studies to identify and resolve problems concerning logistics operations such as: equipment, vehicle, and facility management, Readiness, training, supply, maintenance, transportation, and food service activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and Business Administration.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
