Duties

Help
  • Manages the self-help program within the auto crafts center.
  • May manage associated customer services such as used car sales lot, vehicle maintenance, recreational vehicles, etc.
  • Provides instruction to authorized individuals and/or groups.
  • Demonstrates simple to complex automotive repair techniques, methods, tool usage, test equipment and machinery.
  • Develops lesson plans and prepares training aids and other instructional materials. May supervise lower graded instructors.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Pursuant to EO 14043, all Federal employees, regardless of duty location or work arrangement, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by November 22, 2021, or before entrance on duty if after November 22, subject to exceptions as required by law.

  • Physical Requirement: Able to lift/carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • License Requirement: Possess and have the ability to maintain a valid state Driver's License. May be required to drive a government vehicle in the performance of duties to include taking equipment and supplies to various facilities/locations.
  • Appointment is subject to successful completion and favorable results of fingerprints, health assessment (physical), and Installation Record Checks to determine suitability for this position.

The Automotive Crafts Center has 24 open bays, hydraulic lifts, "state of the art" tools and equipment for use on all domestic and foreign vehicles. We provide a safe clean and earth friendly environment, technical assistance, tools and equipment for patrons to make repairs and maintenance on privately owned vehicles and equipment. You do the work, we ensure industry standards are met.
