Duties

Help

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-06. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

-Conducts the initial review of incoming requests, which may include inquiries that involve fire destroyed or damaged records, Congressional inquiries, and/or highly sensitive requests regarding high ranking governmental officials.
- Analyzes requests for information to identify the scope of inquiry.
- Investigates conflicting record information, apparent errors, and/or omissions of record data.
- Participates as a team member in a variety of functions as determined by team decisions, which may include performing work distribution and/or quality assurance and/or administrative team related duties.
- Assists the Research Room attendant by coordinating with Center offices to expedite the compilation of information.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

General Experience: For the GS-04, you must have one year of general experience which includes progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
OR
2 years of education above high school.
OR
Combination of general experience and education.
