Performs a variety of tasks in the specified area of responsibility, within established methods, techniques, and procedures.
Collects and records a variety of data on insect and disease conditions and their effect on forest resources.
This includes collecting and sorting specimens, collecting survey data, and installing semi-permanent impact plots according to plans furnished by pathologists or entomologists.
Participates in surveys for the detection and appraisal of insect and disease damage. Summarizes data obtained from field collections using prescribed statistical procedures. Under supervision, prepares data summaries in proper format
May occasionally serve as a crew leader on designated projects.

Examples of specialized experience include: Participating in biological-related projects by assisting with measurements, recording observations, and assisting with the collection of biological and vegetation specimens.
