Help
  • Coordinate with and advises press officers and support personnel in the development, production and dissemination of all CMS internal and external media materials.
  • Make sure documents are suitable in terms of coverage, balance, method of expression, and presentation, and adhere to their objectives.
  • Serve as final reviewer prior to external release.
  • Maintain familiarity with CMS programs, including major initiatives and their results. Understands current health care media and information environments.
  • Work directly with appropriate senior officials to resolve questions about its content and technical application CMS-wide.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Editing written documents related to health care to ensure accuracy. 2. Providing oversight of communication projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to objectives. 3. Drafting content to communicate health care information to a variety of audiences (e.g. media outlets, health care professionals, academic researchers).


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
