Limited to current, onboard permanent and indefinite ILNG technicians/employees only.

This is an open continuous announcement. Initial cutoff will be 15 November 2021. Recruitment will continue through the announcement closing date until the position is filled.
As a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (Title 32), WS-8852-10, you will supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures.
Instruct subordinates on new procedures or methods and provide assistance on difficult or new problem areas. Determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for its accomplishment.
Implement regulatory safety requirements and ensure that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.
Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
Plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations.
Establish deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies.
Assign tasks to be performed.
Recommend and participate in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies.
Set performance requirements and make formal and informal performance appraisals.
Determine skills, materials and equipment required to do the work.
Participate in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests.
Provide workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work.
Assure that equipment and materiel is available when needed.
Promote the participation of subordinates in programs such as the suggestion program, cost reduction program, etc.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

Qualifications
Military Grades: Enlisted Only. Minimum Rank of E7. Maximum Rank of E8.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-10- Level Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 36 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow; ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
SUPERVISORY SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience which includes, in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function; experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes; experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
