Duties

Help

  • Manage NEA's enterprise network, this includes servers, switches, and desktop operating systems;
  • Planning, maintaining, and scheduling the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems, and application software; and managing resources for enterprise network operating systems and Microsoft business productivity servers.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, upgrades administrative tools and system utilities.
  • Maintain operating systems' hardware, installation, using patch deployment software. Includes troubleshooting baseline configurations and system backups.
  • Serve as the NEA Service Desk Manager with responsibility for Service Desk support of end users. This includes requests for support using software applications, updates to user account parameters, requests for repair of broken equipment and miscellaneous computer questions and support.
  • System Administration to include using Active Directory Group Policy to manage settings, configuring and push new software packages and resolving problems with their configurations.

You must meet the following requirements:

GS-12

Basic Requirement, GS-12:

You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: (1) Attention to Detail - assisting with managing IT networks; (2) Customer Service - assessing the needs of IT stakeholders; (3) Oral Communication - influencing and persuading employees and managers to accept and implement findings and recommendations; (4) Problem Solving- identifying IT network problem areas and recommending solutions.

Specialized Experience Requirement, GS-12:

You must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, with experience with the following duties: working with a continuous IT diagnostic monitoring (CDM) program; assisting with IT infrastructure related projects; installing and configuring network and server systems, including VOIP services; and maintaining technical network configurations and responding and monitoring systems for outages.

Specialized Experience Requirement, GS-13:

You must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, with experience with the following duties: leading a continuous IT diagnostic monitoring (CDM) program; providing program management services and oversight on IT infrastructure related projects; installing and configuring network and server systems, including VOIP services; and maintaining technical network configurations and responding and monitoring systems for outages.
