The purpose of the position is to represent MSC equity in matters pertaining to Global Force Management; assist in managing people, platforms, and processes; ensure adherence to GFM Implementation Guidelines; relay Request For Force (RFF) and Request For Support (RFS) messages to appropriate MSC offices; reply to GFM related questions from higher headquarters, such as USFF and USTRANSCOM.
Summary
You will serve as a MARINE TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the OPERATIONS & PLANS of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
The purpose of the position is to represent MSC equity in matters pertaining to Global Force Management; assist in managing people, platforms, and processes; ensure adherence to GFM Implementation Guidelines; relay Request For Force (RFF) and Request For Support (RFS) messages to appropriate MSC offices; reply to GFM related questions from higher headquarters, such as USFF and USTRANSCOM.
You will develop and implement policies and procedures for the use of DepSked and SLIDER to ensure operational readiness of MSC ships.
You will coordinate reporting requirements and ensure daily updates reflected in SLIDER and other scheduling systems.
You will provide administration and training for Joint Capabilities Resource Manager, Collaboration of Sea (CAS), Logbook and other systems throughout MSC worldwide.
You will actively seek out technological innovations which may be adapted for use by MSC to improve operational readiness and initiate actions to incorporate approved systems.
You will serve as a Global Force Management action officer.
You will coordinate deployment of Government operated and commercially operated ships and maintain liaison with other Government agencies and activities.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Utilizing ship scheduling tools and tracking systems, such as Fleet SLIDER and Single Mobility System (SMS), ASTARS, Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS), Logbook, Joint Capabilities Resource Manager (JCRM), WEBSKED and similar.
Utilizing knowledge of Global Force Management, various management information systems, office automation systems and IT skills to develop new automated systems for control and support of interrelated program operations.
Reviewing, analyzing and preparing written comments on various documents concerning ship tracking systems and its integration.
Preparing and conducting test exercise-related briefings to address capabilities of ship tracking systems and programs.
There is no substitution of education for the required specialized experience at the announced grade.
