Duties

Help
  • Coordinates and conducts property accountability and asset visibility for divested property transactions.
  • Coordinates with Brigade and Battalion level Property Book Officers the turn-in and staging of property identified for Army Command to ACOM and Intra ACOM lateral transfer, Depot Turn-in and Defense Logistics Agency-Disposition Support divestiture.
  • Assures that all requisitions for the purchase of equipment, personal property, and supplies are properly reviewed for authorization and processed according to all applicable Army Regulations.
  • Processes Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss (FLIPL), special investigations collection vouchers etc., in a timely and efficient manner, complying with processing timelines.
  • Serves as point of contact and advisor for auditors, inspectors, and investigators, by explaining and justifying overall local policies and procedures used to account for property.
  • Confers with the MDRS Division supervisor to negotiate and/or coordinate work- related changes.
  • Tracks data and furnishes periodic work status reports on all divested equipment to the Division Chief and AFSBn Commander. Provides technical advice and recommendations on equipment matters.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing functions as Property Book Officer (PBO); overseeing the property accountability process; managing direct and general supply operations; and utilizing the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
