    The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Office of Design and Construction (ODC). The Regional Director manages and supervises one of four regional offices within ODC. The office encompassing engineers, architects and other professionals involved in carrying out the oversight for managing large scale design and construction projects costing over $20 million.

    The supervisor provides day-to-day supervision for the oversight and management of the Regional Office. The incumbent is one of four field-based regional offices established to work with the various National Cemeteries, VISNs and Medical Centers on infrastructure and life cycle program plans, designs and construction execution to accomplish an overall sustainment program to all facilities. Projects that are underway or in various stages of
    design and construction are managed with ongoing program activities to transition capital facilities programs as a whole into a cohesive plan for management and sustainment.

    Oversees and provides program direction to a staff of highly specialized engineers, architects and other related professionals engaged in the resolution of difficult and complex infrastructure problems and lifecycle sustainment. Responsibilities include all phases for new construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair with coordination and concurrence through all cycles (planning, funding, contract awards, design, and construction). Options for design, design/build, and other related factors are scrutinized to ensure that overall costs are minimized and that the facilities meet the mission needs. Develops executive level presentations, written reports, and oral briefs on project activities especially in response to congressional inquiry during the congressional approval process.

    Serves on committees, task forces, and represents the Director and the organization to support program goals for design and construction infrastructure needs. Infrastructure spans land acquisition, development, building demolition, renovation, and new construction.

    Work Schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
