As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor, the incumbent will advise and assist the Branch Chief in the development of program plans, objectives, policies, methods, and procedures for carrying out State and local immunization programs to control vaccine-preventable diseases.
Summary
As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor, the incumbent will advise and assist the Branch Chief in the development of program plans, objectives, policies, methods, and procedures for carrying out State and local immunization programs to control vaccine-preventable diseases.
Participate in overseeing the implementation of the more than $6a billion Immunization Cooperative Agreement and provides technical advice and support to 50 states, five territories and six local health agencies on planning, developing and conducting their immunization programs.
Participate with the Branch Chief in the management and direct line of supervision of the Branch; and in the absence of the Branch Chief, assume full authority for the direction and operation of the Branch and is authorized to make all related decisions and commitments.
Develop management policies and program goals and objectives of the Branch.
Assist Branch Chief in the implementation of the Immunization Grant Program by providing consultation and assistance to State and local health department and other Federal agencies in the methodology and application of immunization program techniques.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.
Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience planning, organizing, and overseeing a multi-faceted public health program with a broad geographic spread and management of a diverse workforce.
