    EPA Office of Inspector General provides independent and objective oversight to detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse related to EPA programs and operations.     The Office of the Chief of Staff encompasses Strategic Planning and Initiatives (SPI) and Data Analytics (DA) directorates. The SPI oversees the OIG’s strategic and annual plans, leads the development of enterprise-wide projects and initiatives related to the EPA and the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), and initiates projects to identify best OIG practices. The DA supports the Office of Audit, the Office of Special Review and Evaluation, and the Office of Investigations by leveraging advanced analytics. The SPI and DA support all aspects of the EPA OIG mission.


    The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:

    • Advises on the appropriate methods and techniques to use in order to achieve program goals and objectives. Serves on inter-agency, national, or international special work groups, task forces, or expert panels on special projects or studies critical to the resolution of far-reaching operating issues and problems;
    • Translates new legislation into program goals, actions, and policies in collaboration with other senior OIG leaders, including Counsel;
    • Analyzes and evaluates impacts on OIG policy and programs, taking into account fiscal and budgetary implications and potential impact on the attainment of OIG/agency goals;
    • Participates in the IG’s internal and external briefings, meetings, and conferences, regardless of subject matter, in order to keep abreast, and be a part of, the OIG’s day-to-day activities.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Less than 25% of travel.
