    OIG is organized into seven operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, Office of Management and Administration, and Office of Special Reviews. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.

    As a Health System Specialist (Program Evaluation Specialist), you will:

    • Provide vision, direction, and focus to align inspection work to accomplish OHI Quality Improvement Program and OIG goals by reviewing/analyzing references in written reports to verify all statements have valid and accurate supporting documentation.
    • Conducts internal quality assurance reviews to ensure projects are meeting OHI Handbook requirements and Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Standards.
    • Research and investigate new or improved management practices for application to OHI and QI program operations.
    • Coordinates and/or provides training to help guide healthcare inspectors accurately reference draft reports.


    Travel Required

    25% or less - Travel nationwide under tight deadlines. The incumbent should anticipate frequent walking and standing as a component of this travel.
