    This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Incumbent serves as a Digital Imaging Technician in a Federal Records or Civilian Personnel Records Center working directly under a supervisor or a lead technician experienced in the tasks associated with the incumbent's position. The incumbent will digitally scan original, loose, textual records, bound volumes varying in size from ledger or smaller to larger oversize volumes, drawings, maps, charts, and printed material.

    As a Digital Imaging Technician, you will:

    - Perform document preparation on textual materials to be digitally scanned into electronic formats.
    - Provide reference service by searching for, re-filing or interfiling records in various filing systems such as alphabetic, numeric, terminal digit, case file number, action date, etc.
    - Identify and locate data fields and enter data values, i.e., SSN, name, dates, etc. from digitally converted electronic files when the automated extraction process was unable to accurately extract the metadata.
    - Typical work at this level may include, but is not limited to Official Personnel Folders and related records, VA-XC records, Treasury Checks, VA Loan Guarantee records, Immigration and Naturalization Service records, Rail Road Retirement Board records, and other requests for records which are in filing systems of comparable complexity.
