    This position is located with OIT, Front Office, Cyber Workforce Management, which is responsible for VA's Cyber Workforce Management program and maintaining a effective cyber workforce to meet the strategic cyber priorities. The office is dedicated to developing a workforce by implementing the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) Cyber Workforce Framework, identifying needs, skill gaps, defining the qualifications to recruit and maintain a workforce comprised of professionals.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel
    and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some employees may carry light items, such as papers, books, or small parts, or drive a motor vehicle. The work does not require any special physical effort.

    Major Duties:

    • Aligns the cyber needs and priorities of the organization to a strategic and operational workforce.
    • Identifies parameters for building an effective, mission-focused cyber workforce and improving cybersecurity practices.
    • Provides direction, leadership, and guidance on cyber organization structure, resources, staffing, and planning.
    • Develops and maintains cyber plans, strategy, and policy to support and align with organizational cyber initiatives and regulatory compliance.
    • Addresses changes to cyber policy, doctrine, materiel, force structure, and education and training requirements.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Travel required up to 15% of the time.
