Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Joint Proponent Analyst for Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute
  • Serve as subject matter expert for peace operations and its associated cross-cutting topics
  • Conduct outreach activities and build partnerships with key strategic military, civil and interagency partners, commands, departments, institutions, and agencies
  • Lead the joint development, integration and implementation of peace operations for the Joint Force, to include the development and updating of Peace Operations curriculum
  • Form, lead and facilitate Joint, Interagency, Inter-organizational and Multinational (JIIM) workgroups to develop concepts that inform policy, strategy, doctrine and Peace Operations curriculums
  • Develop and teach courses and lessons on peace operations
  • Prepare and present Flag Officer level presentations
  • Conduct research and writing on topics related to peace operations

This is a Term position which may be extended up to a maximum of 6 years with the option to be made permanent after 2 years of continuous competitive service with the authorization of the appointing agency.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) applying techniques and skills in planning to develop policies and procedures for effective stability and peace operations for Joint and/or Multinational Forces; 2) designing and executing comprehensive peace operations programs, lesson plans and academic courses; 3) significant knowledge of the Joint, Interagency, Inter-organizational and Multinational (JIIM) workgroups involved in stability and peace operations activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12) or equivalent pay band.
