Duties

Help

As a/an Information Technology Specialist, you will:

  • Be involved with Infrastructure Services, Service Desk and Asset Management, Client Technologies, Platform Operating systems, Back Office Systems, Storage Management, and Converged Technologies.
  • Oversee all systems maintenance, repair, and inventory activities as well as software and hardware enhancements for assigned field sites.
  • Configure and optimize network servers, hubs, routers, and switches.
  • Deliver a full range of customer support services.
  • Regularly design and conduct fact-finding and feasibility studies and analyses related to a broad spectrum of administrative user software and hardware applications, problems and needs within the OIG.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience this position includes:

  • Experience applying IT principles, concepts, standards and practices in order to serve as a technical specialist and develop new concepts, principles, standards and methods in program management for applicable computer system(s); OR
  • Experience using computer search and retrieval procedures to identify, summarize and analyze statistical data and to produce trend analysis and statistical reports in a variety of formats for use by management; OR
  • Experience applying IT security concepts, standards and methods, including information systems security protocols and regulations.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
