Help

The Supervisory Support Services Officer will serve as the Director of the Office of Administrative Services and will oversee a full range of management and administrative support services to facilitate the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) operations, providing oversight and leadership in functional areas such as logistics, procurement, real property, facilities management, and voice telecommunications. The Director is an integral part of the M&P leadership team and will provide office-wide leadership, supervise a multidisciplinary team of support service specialists, and direct, organize, and manage various facility related infrastructure agency wide. Some of the major duties include:

  • Responsible for managing support system used by OIG operational programs including for procurement, quality assurance, inventory management, facility management, transportation management.
  • Responsible for all building management operations, leasing operation, and related corporate support service programs.
  • Responsible for planning and monitoring contractor's technical performance.
  • Responsible for leasing operations/activities for the OIG's nationwide field sites including: market analysis, lease requisition, negotiation and procurement, cost/benefit analysis, space utilization and planning, and design construction.
  • Responsible for directing the inspection of property to assure that the area is adequately protected from unauthorized entry, and recommends structural changes to provide adequate protection.
  • Responsible for overseeing the procurement management program.
  • Responsible for overseeing the annual inventory of accountable property.
  • Represents the OIG externally with GSA, DOJ and other Federal Agencies.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level obtained in the public sector providing or performing a variety of functions and services applicable to the position to be filled; ability to plan, organize, and control work involving diverse activities; ability to gain cooperation and coordinate the work of others; and skill in oral and written communications. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.) Examples of specialized experience include duties related to agency wide facilities management to include leasing, building regulations, code requirements, space planning, building support services, telecommunications, and acquisition policies and procedures as they relate to facilities management.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
