Duties

Help

· Support efforts to implement CISA Data Management Policy/Governance and develop data products for Integrated Operations Division (IOD) as a member of the Technology Branch.
· Identify and validate IOD data assets specific to Physical and Cyber uses cases that support IOD tools and technology. This includes establishing baseline metadata documentation that captures the source and methods of data collection, precision, formatting constraints, content standards, security and access restrictions, and update cycles.
· Maintain the CISA/IOD data catalog/inventory to include the complete understanding of the data set (e.g. data description, meta data, data quality/confidence, etc.).
· Leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to visualize and analyze IOD data in support of metrics, trend analysis and other reports and projects.
· Participate in Data Council and Data Stewards meetings supporting data assignments and activities.
· Track the IOD data asset permitted use and handing caveat and information sharing agreements.
· Support development of an IOD Data Quality Plan to assist in documenting/assessing the quality of IOD data.

Qualifications

Qualifications required:

  • Experience with data visualization tools (including but not limited to Power BI and Tableau
  • Experience with data policy implementation
  • Experience with data analysis to support mission operations and strategic planning
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Organizational knowledge of DHS and CISA IT solutions and governance policies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently to set and manage priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across IOD and CISA
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and detailed documentation
  • Proficient in the use of information technology and possess information technology skills, not limited to standard Microsoft office software applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel)

If the position requires a security clearance, employees must have a SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance to placement AND must maintain that level of clearance while performing in the position.

Selected applicants for a JDA are requested to fulfill the items below during the JDA:

  1. Complete the DHS Training Course 15 days prior to the arrival to the JDA.
  2. Complete the DHS Joint Duty Assignment Progress Plan to include:
    • Phase 1: Establish assignment objectives within the first 30 days of the JDA.
    • Phase 2: Complete a self-assessment of the duties performed at the mid-point of the JDA.
    • Phase 3: Complete a final review within the last 30 days of the JDA.
  3. Complete 12 hours of professional development using Skillsoft courses, videos, and books in conjunction with the established assignment objectives for the JDA.
  4. Attend each of the DHS Joint Duty Program Director's quarterly webinars (1 hour per quarter).
