Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Fabric Worker (Tailoring)~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common shortening/lengthening sleeves/hems, blind stitch hems on trousers and slacks. I can alter the waist/hip measurements of trousers/slacks/skirts and inspecting for proper fit. I work under normal close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
Physical Effort: Fitting duties require frequently lifting items weighing 40-70 pounds independently and occasionally lifts up to 100 pound with assistance. Work involves continuous standing and walking on concrete floors, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching above heads. Sewing duties require sitting for long periods of time with continual movement of hands, arms and fingers placing items in position for sewing operations
Working Conditions: Works in moderately heated, lighted and ventilated building, however, it is subject to heat from the adjacent pressing area. Is subject to cuts abrasions, bruises or strains from handling boxes and bundles of clothing. There is some danger of minor hand injuries such as injuries to fingers from needles and to serious hand cuts when operating the pants cutting machine. Frequently exposed to unpleasant body odors Work surroundings are noisy and crowded from the number of soldiers processing.

This position is a TERM position. It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
