    About the Position: Serves as a Range Operations Technician for the U.S. Army Support Activity, Training Division, Range Support Branch, Fort Eustis, Virginia.

    Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Transportation includes convenient interstate and major highways connecting the city to neighboring Hampton, York County, Gloucester, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Smithfield.

    • Serve as a Range Operations Technician responsible for scheduling and coordinating the use of the installation training ranges and facilities.
    • Evaluate the seriousness of problems encountered in range safety matters and keeps the leadership informed of major problems and unusual work situations.
    • Discuss with range safety officers the planning and setup of training exercises as they influence the daily schedule so that all operations can be conducted within acceptable hazard and damage limits.
    • Assist in developing and enforcing regulatory requirements involving range inspections procedures and range communications procedures.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel up to 5% of the time for this position.
