Duties

Help
  • Provide expertise with strategic marketing, communication, and business objectives.
  • Develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote programs, activities, and services.
  • Create communication plans with implementation guidance and actions to inform internal and external publics about an organization's policies, programs, and operation.
  • Disseminate oral and written communication materials to include communication plans, talking points, fact sheets, and/or public affairs guidance.
  • Responds to public and other special-interest group inquiries, concerning company/business policies and activities.
  • Make recommendations on courses of action on extremely sensitive events which have the ability to dramatically impact the public's perception of the Agency's image and brand.
  • Provide expertise with strategic marketing, communication, and business objectives
  • Plans, designs, execute and evaluates public affairs program for the organization's missions and programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.


Specialized Experience GS-13: Implementing and managing comprehensive Public Affairs program/ initiatives; independently handling a wide range of difficult and complex communication/publication information about the organizations missions and programs; interacting with the organizations leadership, staff, and the general public to assure Public Affairs program effectiveness; and participating in media events, conferences, workshops, training, to include the presentation of approved briefings and/or speeches.
