This position is located in the Office of General Counsel, Office of the Chairman, National Endowment for the Arts. In this position, you will:
-Provide professional legal advice to the Deputy General Counsel, the General Counsel, and appropriate agency staff on matters that are often of the utmost confidentiality and urgency.
-Assist or advise directly on day-to-day legal issues as assigned, including but not limited to grants, cooperative agreements and government contracts, regulatory matters, transactions and/or litigation, intellectual property and social media, appropriations/fiscal law, civil rights and equal employment opportunity, privacy and other forms of administrative law, law pertaining to information technology, ethics and conflicts of interest, governance, appropriations (including acceptance and use of donated funds) and environmental and historic preservation.
-Render legal advice on complex matters pertaining to the agency's compliance and minimizing potential legal risk to the agency.
-Provide leadership and guidance to NEA offices regarding statutory law, caselaw, and regulations that would impact the agency.
-Complete legal research and renders legal advice on complex questions of law and policy, comprehensive guidance related to the intersection of the range of laws that the Office of General Counsel must apply, and the NEA's authorizing statute and legislation.
