Duties

Help
  • You will support the SUBSAFE Program and functional audits.
  • You will assist in developing and implementing requirements documentation and training standards.
  • You will analyze audit and surveillance reports, as well as any SUBSAFE program related trouble reports and critiques, to make recommendations to the Program Director for program improvements.
  • You will provide support in the execution of the Division Quality Management System.
  • You will plan and participate as a team member in the Audit and Surveillance program, including the tracking of required corrective actions.
  • You will provide training presentations and assist personnel in the qualification process.
  • You will plan, oversee, and execute a quality management system assuring the quality of submarine electromagnetic systems and products.
  • You will collaborate with production, engineering, and other technical and administrative activities in developing plans and procedures for assuring quality and reliability of products.
  • You will review work instructions and technical data to identify characteristics critical to product acceptability.
  • You will monitor the quality of materials and supplies required to support production activities.
  • You will conduct audits of products and processes for conformance to specifications.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector overseeing, coordinating, or conducting a Quality Management System program for an organization. Examples of specialized experience may include: ensuring quality standards are met via process audits, product inspections, or investigations of defective material; utilizing fact-finding or investigative techniques to analyze or resolve unsatisfactory quality conditions or trends.

Education

In lieu of experience, education may be substituted if one or more of the following are met:

- successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.

- successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.

- successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.

- combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
