Summary

The projects will help introduce new technology or methodology to APHIS and modernize the APHIS program it supports.
The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.
The duties may include, but are not limited to:
Participates in scientific projects administered by the APHIS Science Committee (ASC) in conjunction with APHIS programs.
Helps to ensure project development and findings are based on sound biological and geographical principles and consistent with the Agency's goals, regulatory authorities, and overall policies.
Collaborates and coordinates with scientists in other APHIS programs to carry out scientific projects in order to provide analyses and assessments.
Contributes to advancement of Agency actions for a wide range of plant and animal health concerns, applying knowledge of the concepts and technology of biological and agricultural studies.
Maintains familiarity with current scientific trends and interpreting information on animal and plant pests and pathogens as they relate to issues faced by the Agency.
