Duties

Help
  • Provide central planning and staff assistance at those locations, which receive no base support; coordinates space management, facilities management and furniture and equipment requirements.
  • Reviews space and facility needs requests. Consults with officials on space requirements, amount/type of space, and determines appropriate program and operating requirements.
  • Develops specifications for any space changes, and ensures that proper funding is available prior to contract commitments. Manages the space assignment action, including coordinating with GSA and/or local officials, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for all contracted buildings and grounds maintenance and repair services. Interfaces with contractors, contracting officers, vendors, as required.
  • Plans, directs, and determines the immediate and future operations and maintenance requirements of the facility to prevent disruption of the vital services.
  • Provide building and grounds maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair, and ensures furniture and equipment set up and space layout meets appropriate safety considerations.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-09) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized Experience Is Defined As:
Assisting with the planning and development of technical facility requirements; coordinating space alternation and construction projects; helping to evaluate facility operations and maintenance activities in building maintenance and repair; utilizes drafting/design software such as AutoCAD to design or edit office floor plans.

Time-In-Grade:
Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a (GS-09) or higher grade in Federal Service.

Education

GS-11 Substitution Of Education For Experience:
Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed higher-level graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
