Summary

This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, in the Office of the Archivist, Office of Innovation, Digital Partnerships and Outreach Division (VP). As an ARCHIVES SPECIALIST, you will be responsible for formulating and implementing NARA's strategic direction for providing online public access to NARA holdings and for coordinating those activities with other NARA offices and units nationwide, particularly for the development of next-generation finding aids.

Duties

Help

As a ARCHIVES SPECIALIST, you will:

- Develop strategic engagement and outreach plans for next-generation finding aids and collaborative efforts that promote the reuse of NARA's data.
-Serve as the chair for working groups developing policies, processes and organizational decisions for next-generation finding aids, supports finding-aid development projects and promotes collaborative efforts that promote the reuse of NARA's data.
-Develop communications for both internal and external platforms around NARA's work on next-generation finding aids, Wikimedia projects, and collaborative efforts that promote reuse of NARA's data.
-Develop connections between the Wikipedia community and NARA programs. Coordinates promotional events with online activity and tracks the analytics of Wikipedia influence and distribution channels.
-Organize special events, such editing challenge days or scanathons for the Wikipedia community; share the experience with NARA, the Wikipedia community, and the public via presentations, videos or social media.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience at the GS-13 level: For the GS-13, specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for this position includes experience:

- Experience planning, initiating, and coordinating studies or special projects.; AND
- Communicating to effectively explain, elaborate on or advocate for policies or projects orally and in writing.; AND
- Knowledge of archival records and information management principles.
