Brief Description of Duties: On a daily basis dusts, polishes furniture and makes bed. Cleans, sanitizes and/or deodorizes bathrooms and kitchen areas. On daily basis counts and sorts linen removed from individual rooms, along with clean linen issued during assigned shift. Incumbent will inform supervisor immediately of any missing, malfunctioning or damaged items in room, common areas or any valuables left out in the open by guests. Incumbent may be required to clean lobbies, passageways, stairwells, laundry rooms, public restrooms and other common use areas in and around building. Responsibilities include consistently monitoring areas for problems, unreported vacancies, and unusual activity that is in violation of policy. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements: Must be able to apply general knowledge of cleaning procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment and approved, commonly used chemicals (including MSDS) and adherence to basic safety policies is required. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with management, staff and guests.
Conditions of Employment: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of National Agency background Check (NACI) with written inquiries. This position may work various shifts to include nights, weekends, and holidays. This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds is required. May be required to possess a valid state driver’s license. Incumbent will be required to obtain a housekeeping certification within 6 months of employment, as well as, any other requirements outlined in the Lodging Career Path Guide.
