Duties

Help
  • Collaborates with various levels of personnel to develop, propose, and recommend significant natural resources and conservation management program innovations.
  • Provides expert technical guidance and direction for natural resources management programmatic segments.
  • Applies expertise of NRCS concepts to advise State Conservationists and the Division Director.
  • Provides data analyses on geographical areas (e.g., Hydrologic Unit Areas and Major Land Resource Areas).

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
A. Degree: Bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: This includes courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.


In addition to meeting one of the Basic Requirements listed above, applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications Requirement in order to be considered:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:

GS-13

Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:

  • Assists in the formulation and planning of natural resources studies and conservation projects;
  • Analyzes issues in order to develop solutions to complex or emergent issues in conservation;
  • Assists in gathering and analyzing data in order to evaluate the effectiveness of organizational conservation programs and policies; and
  • Supports the development and application of modeling protocols to address issues related to land management systems, landscapes, and ecosystems.
GS-14

Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties:

Additional information
