Duties

Help

As a Records and Information Management Specialist, you will:

  • Facilitate the coordination of Department wide records management improvement strategies in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (ClO), private contractors and other HUD offices.
  • Serve as an expert in providing technical advice and assistance to Housing Offices in preparing records for transfer to Federal Records Centers.
  • Serve as the Assistant to the Team Leader Records Management Team providing guidance to field staff, subordinate employees, HUD officials and industry representatives.
  • Oversee records contractors to ensure compliance with HUD rules and regulation.

The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, District of Columbia. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, one year of experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience includes:

  • Participating in efficiency studies and recommending changes or improvements in organization, staffing, work methods and procedures; AND
  • Identifying resources required to support varied levels of program operations; AND
  • Researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices for application to programs or operations.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume.
