Duties

Help
  • You will establish and maintain mutual communication between NAVSEA programs, the general public, and various other pertinent publics including internal or external, foreign or domestic audiences.
  • You will develop new methods, strategies and communication plans covering NAVSEA corporate programs, to include presenting information on a wide variety of complex and scientific subjects using written and oral communication techniques.
  • You will serve as a consultant for management to advise on the potential public reaction to proposed policies.
  • You will plan, organize, and evaluate communication strategies, programs, and materials.
  • You will respond to queries from news media, the general public and representatives of commercial, industrial, legislative and other organizations.
  • You will develop written materials, including flag-level speeches, that increase understanding among the public of NAVSEA corporate programs and policies, as well as those with opposition or indifference to the program objectives.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 Equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: identifying communication requirements and developing informational plans, strategies, materials and flag-level speeches to enhance the understanding of the general public, media, or specialized groups on organizational programs and policies.
