Qualifications
This position requires a Ph.D in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
In addition to meeting the basic education requirements stated above, all applicants must also meet the following requirements:
At The GS-11
A Ph.D. must have been obtained within the last 4 years of application date.
Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.
Specialized experience is fulfilled by one or more of the following: knowledge of bioinformatics; knowledge of computer programming including scripting languages such as Python and R; ability to apply machine learning algorithms and gene network analyses; expertise in bioinformatic analysis of gene sequences.
