    Summary

    This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration (ASA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The ASA provides leadership for DHHS departmental administration, including human resource policy, information technology (IT), and departmental operations. The ASA also serves as the operating division head for the DHHS Office of the Secretary.

    Responsibilities

    ABOUT THIS POSITION

    The OCIO oversees all matters pertaining to the use of investment analysis; performance measurement; strategic development and application of information systems and infrastructure; policies to provide improved management of information resources and technology; and better, more efficient service to our clients and employees.

    Ensure IT governance and compliance are consistent and aligned with statutory, legislative and executive orders.

    Define policy for existing and future technologies and their implications in support of HHS' mission.

    Lead strategic and operational IT governance processes.

    Lead IT strategic and operational planning to support the HHS Mission and achieve goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of IT systems across the department.

    Drive a service culture with team and with customers - develop feedback loops (metrics and comments) to drive improvements.

    Ensure continuous delivery of high-quality IT services through oversight of service level agreements with end-users and monitoring of IT systems performance.

    Effectively define scope and requirements to support the Mission and drive superior results and outcomes.

    Responsible for exceeding conditions of satisfaction for projects - under budget, ahead of schedule and exceeds customer expectations.

    Coordinate and facilitate consultation with internal customers and stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

    Approve, prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - you may be expected to travel for this position.
