Duties

Help
  • You will aid in monitoring the progress and status of Marine Corps acquisition programs pertinent to data networks in support of deployed forces, ensuring that department visions and policies are supported.
  • You will provide representation at meetings with other agencies and parties both internal and external to the Marine Corps.
  • You will assisted in conducting research and analysis of IT issues throughout the Marine Corps, including generating synopses of relevant and emerging technologies found both in industry and throughout Department of Defense (DoD).
  • You will assist in providing fiscal and/or programmatic analysis of acquisition programs throughout DoD.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: knowledge of and skill in applying IT principles relating to the architecture and design of data networks in support of deployed forces, network protocols, and industry standards for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), and network management; ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate both verbally and in writing, technical and programmatic information (fiscal data, project schedules, fielding strategies, etc.).

Education

Basic Requirements

This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.

Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

GS-7 (or equivalent): 1 full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement

GS-9 (or equivalent): master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree

OR

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
