Duties

Help

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14.  Duties assigned at a lower level will be of narrower scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity; duties will be commensurate with the grade of the selected employee.

- Provides System Cybersecurity RMF support as a lead for policy development and technical cybersecurity systems development review. 

- Ensures assignments are aligned with the Strategic Plan, established goals, objectives, and performance measures associated that enhance the security and privacy of systems and data. 

- As a RMF project team leader, plans and assigns work, adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. 

- Represents the organization in technical interactions with other governmental Departments regarding information technical security operations. 

- Conducts continuous monitoring of multiple security technologies such as IDS/IPS, syslog, file integrity, vulnerability scanners, and correlates and analyzes events.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

For the GS-14: Specialized experience is one (1) year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position which should include:

- Leading the authorization and assessment processes in accordance with the risk management framework; AND
- Performs continuous monitoring using various security technologies
- Performs incident response and threat hunting activities in response to an identified incident; AND
- Analyzing and developing IT solutions to enhance organizational process and operational efficiencies in an automated environment.

 For the GS-13: Specialized experience is one (1) year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position which should include:

- Analyzing and researching Information Security Programs to assess risks and weaknesses; AND
- Experience applying IT security concepts, standards and methods, including information systems security, network protocols and regulations. AND
- Developing and maintaining information security policies and procedures.


In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
