Summary

This position is within the Department of Defense (DoD), Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Office of the Deputy Inspector General for Administrative Investigations (DIG-AI). The incumbent serves as an Investigative Analyst in support of the four components of DIG-AI: Investigations of Senior Officials Directorate, Whistleblower Reprisal Investigations Directorate, DoD Hotline Directorate, and the Front Office.

Duties

Help
  • Serves as Investigative Analyst, developing/collecting, entering into an automated database.
  • Retrieving, analyzing, consolidating and statistical reporting of extremely sensitive and complex investigative data concerning senior officials, whistleblower reprisal, and hotline complaints impacting the Department and national security.
  • Maintains the automated time and attendance reporting system for the office.
  • Prepares Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs), reviews travel orders and vouchers, and tracks budget expenditures.
  • Extracts and organizes statistical data for investigators, Senior Analysts, and the component heads within DIG-AI. Prepare reports and oral briefings.
  • Utilizes MS applications creating correspondence, Power Point slides and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Disseminates data through automated data processing systems.

Qualifications

Experience consists of 52 weeks at the GS-4 level or equivalent which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Those duties include General Experience for this position is defined as: Applicants must have skill in writtencommunication to present clear and concise information. Must have the ability to access and operate largeautomated data base systems. Must have excellent office automation skills including experience with MSWord, Excel, and Power Point.

Qualified applicants must possess:

One year of experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-04 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Those duties include skills in written communication to present clear and concise information. Must have the ability to access and operate large automated data base systems. Must have excellent office automation skills including experience with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree may be substituted to meet the experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualifications requirements.
