This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.
Develops, leads and oversees the management of the High-speed Measurements Group, that includes research in measurement science and SI traceable calibrations for internal and external customers, spanning, but not limited to high-speed waveform measurements, electro-optic sampling, on-wafer electrical measurements, analytical and numerical waveform deconvolution, high-speed signal generation, nonlinear vector network analysis, and correlated uncertainty analysis that underpins the metrological foundations for high-speed and high frequency electrical and optical waveform measurements in the classical and quantum regimes. The mission of the group involves highly complex projects and building collaborative scientific efforts within and outside of NIST. Promotes the activities of the group to management, colleagues and external stakeholders. Key stakeholders include both public and private sector stakeholders in the microelectronics electronics and electrical instrumentation industries. Provides technical direction to group staff by defining work objectives. Provides managerial direction to effectively allocate funding, staffing and other resources for the group. Operates independently under general policy guidance and work products are considered well researched, appropriate and technically accurate.
