Duties

Help

This position is located at 162d WG in Tucson, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance on assigned missiles, operate, repair, maintain and calibrate missile test equipment, operate the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS), store, handle and perform intermediate level maintenance on assigned conventional munitions.

  • NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
  • This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Newly hired employees and employees of the Arizona National Guard are required to be fully vaccinated by 22 November 2021 or before appointment or onboarding with the agency, if after 22 November, per Executive Order 14043.

Qualifications

Military Grades: AMN/E2 - SSgt/E5

Compatible Military Assignments: Must possess the AFSC of 2W031.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

WG-05:
Must possess at least 6 months of experience or training servicing and adjusting ordnance equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, assembling, and disassembling parts. Experience which has demonstrated the ability to identify and locate troubles by sight. Experience in the use of common hand tools. Experience showing the ability to follow written instruction.

WG-08: Must possess at least 12 months of experience or training in dismantling, cleaning and reassembling various ordnance equipment such as; target detecting, arming, control, steering, power and propulsion units and devices. Experience which required the ability to diagnose malfunctions. Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring instruments. Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and meggers. Experience interpreting and applying a variety of technical manuals and similar published materials.

WG-10: Must possess at least 18 months of experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Experience in the use of precision measurement equipment.
