    This position is located within the Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO) with two vacancies located in Honolulu, HI.

    Responsibilities

    As a Fishery Management Specialist, you will perform the following duties:

    • Assist with coordinating the internal agency review, approval, and implementation of proposed fishery management plan amendments and regulatory amendments.
    • Prepare discussion papers, briefing documents, or agency correspondence related to fishery management measures.
    • Assist in written analyses of the environmental or economic impacts of proposed fishery management measures to inform agency reviewers, the Fishery Management Council, and the public.
    • Attend and monitor presentations of agency reports and information at meetings of the Fishery Management Council, any of its advisory bodies, or other groups as requested.

    Travel Required

    Occasional travel - Up to 10% of domestic and foreign travel may be required.
