Duties

Help
  • Identifies opportunities to mitigate threats through a variety of analytical processes; and make recommendations regarding threats to other DS offices and/or law enforcement, defense, and intelligence partners.
  • Develops and implements new and innovative strategies for gathering open source information or intelligence in support of DS priorities.
  • Articulates and outlines assignments, projects, and problems to be solved; actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review. Provides a cohesive plan for identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks for the program.
  • Identifies and researches requirements, directives, databases, and various sources to gather, analyze, and publish open source intelligence products information.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements, including education and any selective placement factors described below by the closing date of this announcement.

If you are qualifying based on education OR if there are mandatory education requirements listed below, you MUST submit a copy of your college transcript with your application.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.  Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

- Experience collecting, monitoring and analyzing open source intelligence materials.

- Experience providing advice and guidance in the planning and execution of intelligence open source collection and analysis operations.

- Experience identifying and analyzing intelligence information to identify threats to national security.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs) and other characteristics that are relevant to the duties of this position and must be fully supported by information in your resume:

1. Knowledge of Intelligence Analysis.

2. Knowledge of search techniques to conduct complex intelligence open and all-source operations.

3. Ability to recognize, gather and extract intelligence data from open sources.

4. Ability to establish liaisons to plan and coordinate intelligence activities.
