Duties

Help
  • Assist in the planning markets and conducts an ongoing program to provide conditioning programs for facility users.
  • Instructs in the proper conditioning and training for aerobic and muscular fitness, and flexibility.

  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Two (2) DA Form 3439 - Employment References are required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty including varying shifts, early in the morning, nights, weekends, holidays and as needed for events.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • May also required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area must routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) in English.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated work experience that enables the candidate to independently carry out a basic physical fitness program; AND
2. Valid Fitness or Personal Trainer License/Certificate ( From a nationally recognize organization)

Highly Preferred Criteria
Applicants meeting both Minimum Qualifications and the Highly Preferred Criteria will be considered as Highly Preferred Applicants. Highly Preferred Applicants will be referred to management for consideration first. All other qualified applicants will be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list.

The following will be used as Highly Preferred Criteria:
1. Unexpired Puerto Rico Department of Sports and Recreation Physical Aptitude Certification/License OR a nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification/License (Group fitness may include certification/license in one or more of the following, Group Fitness, Yoga, Spinning, TRX, BootCamp, etc.)
2. Possess an unexpired CPR, AED and First Aid Certification.
3. Experience in providing physical fitness assessments and exercise program design.

Education

Candidates will be evaluated on how well Minimum Qualifications and Highly Preferred criteria are met. Applicants that meet the Minimum Qualifications and Highly Preferred will be referred to management for consideration first. All other eligible will be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred Applicant list.

NAF Preferences:

1.Spouse Employment Preference (SEP) - A copy of your Sponsor's Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Orders (along with proof of marriage if applicant's name does not appear on sponsor's orders) must be uploaded at time of application.
2. Involuntarily Separated From the Military (ISMP) - A copy of the DD 214 (member 4 or service 2 copy) or equivalent must be uploaded at time of application.

NAF Priority Considerations:
1. DoD NAF Employees Separated by Business Based Action (BBA) -
A copy of your most recent Personnel Action (or equivalent) or the Official BBA Notice must be uploaded at time of application.
2. Current Appropriated Funds Employee CNE (APF) - Your resume must clearly reflect current employment (i.e. agency, position tittle, pay plan, series, grade etc) or a copy of your most recent Personnel Action (SF50) or equivalent must be uploaded at time of application.
3. Current/Former NAF Employee (CNE/FNE) - Your resume must clearly reflect current/former employment (i.e. agency, position tittle, pay plan, series, grade etc) or a copy of your most recent Personnel Action (DA3434) or equivalent must be uploaded at time of application.
