Summary

This position is a Visual Information Specialist for the Design, Production, and Training Section, Operational Information and Development Office, Strategic Operations Division, and provides comprehensive in-house graphics, publication design, and layout support in order to meet FinCEN’s needs. Specifically, the section is responsible for the layout, diagrams/graphics/charts, PowerPoint presentations, photography, and other materials designed for either internal or public distribution.

Duties

Help

This position has been designated non-critical sensitive and requires incumbent to obtain and maintain eligibility for a Secret clearance.  Must meet and continue to adhere to the requirements of a Tier 3 level background investigation.

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Serves as senior visual information specialist who provides artistic and technical guidance to the staff assigned to the Design, Production, and Training Section as well as FinCEN employees, contractors, students, external counterparts, (i.e. Government Printing Office-GPO), etc.
  • Develops and implements technical artistic and customer service standards for carrying out FinCEN graphics program. Serves as a technical consultant to FinCEN staff and senior leaders on all printing/electronic publishing-related matters.
  • Advises clients, stakeholders, or staff on general, preliminary graphics plans prior to submission of the end-product to subject-matter expert for reviews.
  • Develops and implements methods for receiving graphics service requests from FinCEN organizations. Advises management on the look and feel of all graphics support program created visual materials that represents the FinCEN mission statement.
  • Develops original designs, concepts, or visual styles. Advise staff on the technical and artistic advantages or disadvantages of different formats, styles, media, and methods of reproduction in order to best meet the information objectives of FinCEN requestors.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for the GS-12: One year (52 weeks) of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or equivalent, which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:

- Designing, developing, and producing requested visual products for publications and presentations; AND
-
Planning and coordinating the preparation and use of photographs, videos, illustrations, drawings and various kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means; AND
-
Applying graphic design and print electronic publishing processes using current versions of graphical software applications; AND
-
Communicating and interacting, both orally and in writing, with various levels of associates.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
