Summary
You will serve as an ENGINER OR SCIENTIST in the ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY MODELING & SIMULATION DIVISION within the USW WEAPONS VEHICLE & DEFENSIVE SYSTEMS DEPTARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.

Current permanent employees of Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport (UIC 66604), Current or former time-limited employees that occupied a position located at a Defense Industrial Base Facility (DIBF) or Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB), and DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligible.
You will serve as a senior engineering/scientist in the Undersea Weapons, Unmanned Vehicles and Defensive Systems Department of RI
serving as the technical lead for Advanced Signal Processing and Navigation Science and Technology.
You will propose, develop and execute moderate to large size Science and Technology projects and interact with internal and external sponsors.
You will serve as a Principal Investigator or Project Manager for multi-organizational research projects with collaboration within the command and across warfare centers, academia, industry, and other research institutes.
You will perform technology gap assessments for signal processing and navigation as it relates to underwater sensors, undersea vehicles and defensive systems missions.
You will identify internal investment and externally funded projects and tasking, as well as seek and support collaborative opportunities internal and external to the department.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) in the Federal service, or in the public or private sector as a professional Engineer or Scientist coordinating test and evaluation assessments for the development of undersea sensors or signal processing systems.
