Duties

Help
  • Collate 20 years of experimental and fumigation data from SoyFACE including environmental and meteorological date, fumigation information, physiological, yield, and ecosystem responses data.
  • Analyze these data to test hypotheses of crop responses to multiple climate change factors.
  • Build a relational database designed to facilitate the integration of data from many different sources.
  • Build a Web interface to provide data to the broad research community.

Qualifications

This position requires a recent Ph.D. in computational biology, statistics, crop science, plant sciences, environmental sciences, atmospheric sciences, data science, computer science, information science, or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

We are looking for applicants with experience managing large environmental datasets; experience creating and managing relational databases; experience creating Web sites to provide access to databases; and a familiarity with searching for and digitizing data from published literature.

Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard's requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
