Duties

Help
  • Cut grass with hand tools, string trimmers, and riding mowers.
  • Trim trees and bushes using hand tools.
  • Collect trash, debris, and brush.
  • Move storage supplies.
  • Complete projects from initial phase through completion.
  • Use necessary hand tools.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a General Labor Worker. You must demonstrate the ability to do the work of a Laborer without more than normal supervision performing common Laborer tasks including trimming trees and digging ditches using handsaws, shovels, and tampers. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Physical effort: Moderately heavy physical effort is required when lifting and carrying objects weighing up to about 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Works inside and outside occasionally in bad weather. Continuous standing, walking, stooping, or lifting is required. Employee subject to injury when using or moving tools, equipment, and heavy objects and is required to observe safe working procedures. Appropriate protective clothing and/or equipment is provided to minimize or eliminate hazardous conditions and its use is mandatory.
