Duties

Help
  • Serve as a program manager for employee development through education and training
  • Develop, review, coordinate, and monitor course presentations for applicability and quality of instruction
  • Develop and conduct training needs analyses using Individual Development Plans
  • (IDPs), and other processes to identify and document training and education development needs
  • Recommends and drafts policy and procedure in areas of training and education for use by management and OIG staff
  • Serve as Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder or billing official or alternate
  • Serve as program manager for OIG learning management system or as alternate.
  • Serve as program manager and administer training and education programs such as new employee orientation training, retirement seminars, Contracting Officers Representative (COR) and mandatory training classes as required.
  • Identify, obtain and manage external training vendors in training and education development.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • Position has been designated as Non-critical Sensitive; incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoDOIG.
  • All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • The incumbent will be required to serve a two year probationary period.
  • Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized at the discretion of the Hiring Official.
  • Student Loan Repayment Incentive MAY be authorized at the discretion of the Hiring Official.
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade 12 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as program administration such as research of training law and regulations, coordinating classes, procurement of external training vendors, and tracking employee compliance with training requirements.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no substitution of education for experience at this level.
