Duties

Help
  • Serve as a program manager for employee development through education and training
  • Develop, review, coordinate, and monitor course presentations for applicability and quality of instruction
  • Develop and conduct training needs analyses using Individual Development Plans
  • (IDPs), and other processes to identify and document training and education development needs
  • Recommends and drafts policy and procedure in areas of training and education for use by management and OIG staff
  • Serve as Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder or billing official or alternate
  • Serve as program manager for OIG learning management system or as alternate.
  • Serve as program manager and administer training and education programs such as new employee orientation training, retirement seminars, Contracting Officers Representative (COR) and mandatory training classes as required.
  • Identify, obtain and manage external training vendors in training and education development.

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Contracting Officers Representative (COR) and Government Purchase Card holder or billing official certification through Defense Acquisition University.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience. Specialized experience is defined as program administration such as research of training law and regulations, coordinating classes, procurement of external training vendors, and tracking employee compliance with training requirements.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

There is no substitution of education for experience at this level.
