Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05/10) grade level or pay band (NO-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following duties:1.) Communicating technical topics to varied audiences, 2.) Managing external websites, social media channels and intranet, 3.) Advising leaders on how to engage with media, 4.) Developing and providing advice concerning sensitive controversial media topics and 5.) Establishing relationships with media, creating press kits and responding to queries.

This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must have demonstrated experience performing tasks associated with media relations and journalistic expertise for engagement with the news media, specialized groups, and the general public in order to provide clear language free of jargon and accurate explanations of complex administrative, technical, and scientific issues

Education

The following can be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualification requirements of this position:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
